The Art of Quiet Modernization
At Renewed Space, we believe a renovation should feel like a natural evolution of a home’s story, not a disruption of it. Our latest project involved the total reimagining of a period property’s functional core—the kitchen and bathroom—balancing raw, tactile textures with high-performance utility.
The original bathroom was a study in dated, high-gloss functionality: standard white tiling and a bulky bathtub that crowded the limited floor plan. Our goal was to create a sensory, “spa-logic” environment. We stripped the space back to its essentials, replacing the tub with a seamless walk-in shower finished in a continuous, stone-toned microcement. This material choice eliminates visual clutter and grout lines, making the room feel significantly larger. Premium chrome accents, including a recessed rain shower head and a sculptural geometric towel radiator, provide a crisp, polished contrast to the matte, hand-applied wall finishes.

The kitchen transformation celebrates the “why” of modern living: the need for high-end performance within a lived-in, soulful atmosphere. We paired deep charcoal cabinetry with clean white worktops to ground the light-filled room. The integration of a black Silgranit sink and Bosch appliances ensures professional-grade utility, while the inclusion of a retro-style cream fridge and the preservation of original stripped pine doors maintains the property’s historical warmth.
